Adithya Verma is the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy which is one of the most awaited hardcore romantic movies. But soon after the release on November 22, the Adithya Verma became the victim of the infamous piracy website, Tamilrockers. The film is available for free download online thus preventing users to watch it at cinema halls. This undoubtedly affects the box office collections and therefore bad news for the film producers and the entire cast and crew. The film features Banita Sandhu and Dhruv Vikram in lead roles. Leela Samson, Priya Anand, Anbu Thasan, Raja, and Bagavathi Perumal are playing supporting roles in the movie.
Major Hollywood, Bollywood big-budget films, including Dream Girl, Saaho, Judgemental Hai Kya, Kabir Singh, Gully Boy, Student of the Year 2, Housefull 4 and Bala were made available for illegally downloading and streaming. Film piracy is illegal in India and lots of efforts have been made to stop the menace of online piracy. Film Federation of India (FFI) had asked to make amendments in the Cinematograph Act to impose a strict penalty to combat piracy.
The story of Adithya Verma movie revolves around the life of a brilliant young surgeon. Because of his serious drinking and short-tempered nature he goes down into a self-destructive path as the love of his life was forced to marry another man. With a budget of 15 crores, the film managed to earn 1.5 crores on the first day in all languages. Adithya Verma is a romantic drama Tamil-language film produced by Mukesh Mehta under E4 Entertainment and directed by Gireesaaya.
Adithya Verma received positive reviews from critics but worked better for those who have not seen the original. This is the third film based on Sandeep Vanga after Arjun Reddy in Telugu and Kabir Singh in Hindi. When Arjun Reddy was first released in 2017, it was celebrated in the box office as it was something new into a space of Telugu cinema. Adithya Verma movie worked only because Dhruv Vikram’s performance was refreshing, earnest and that’s one of the reasons why this remake works.
Dhruv tries hard to appear as an insufferably arrogant doctor as Vijay Deverakonda in Telugu and Shahid Kapoor in Hindi, but sadly this debut came late. There was nothing new to the character which the audience has not seen. This is the place where the movie has lost its edge.
