Pakistan Vs West Indies 2nd T20I: A 119 run partnership between Babar Azam and Hussain Talat and then three-wicket haul by Mohammad Amir helped Pakistan thrash West Indies by 82 runs and seal the series 2-0. Babar Azam was adjudged man-of-the-match for his brilliant knock of 97 runs off just 58 balls.

Batting first, Pakistan lost Fakhar Zaman in the second over itself as Rayad Emrit’s delivery kissed Fakhar’s glove and went to the wicketkeeper. But since then, Talat and Babar dominated West Indies and hammered quick runs.

Odean Smith broke the partnership in the 14th over when he sent back Talat for 63 runs off 41 balls. Asif Ali (14 runs off eight balls) and Shoaib Malik (17 off seven balls) then added runs at brisk pace to take Pakistan to 205 after 20 overs.

Babar kept one end secured and stood not after facing 58 balls. Courtesy of Babar’s masterpiece innings, Pakistan scored their highest ever total in T20I.

Chasing 206, West Indies lost Andre Fletcher in the 3rd over while Marlon Samuels troubled innings of 12 off 22 balls was brought to an end by Shadab Khan in the eleventh over. Chadwick Walton tried to offer some resistance with his 29 ball 40 but he was castled by Shadab as the required run-rate crept on.

West Indies’ middle order once again surrendered to Pakistan’s multi-dimensional bowling attack and the visitors were all-out for 123 runs in the 20th over. Shadab claimed two wickets in his four overs while Hussain picked two wickets and wiped out the tail quickly.

But the pick of the bowlers was Mohammad Amir who ran through West Indies’ middle order and ended up with three wickets in his quota of four overs. He also conceded just 22 runs.
With this win, Pakistan have won the three-match T20I series 2-0. The last match of the series will be played on Tuesday, 03rd April.
