Farmers Protest: thousands of tractors, road map ready, will decide 100 KM route

For nearly two months in the country, the farmers are protesting against the agricultural laws. The farmers are adamant on repealing the agricultural laws implemented by the central government. At the same time, the farmer’s moment is getting intensified day by day.

It has been 60 days to the farmers who are agitating against the three agricultural laws passed through the central government. Now farmers are preparing to take out a tractor rally on 26 January. For this, farmers are reaching Delhi border from Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh in large numbers. Thousands of farmers have already been left with tractors for nearly two months on the Singhu border and have already claimed that they have come up with a six-month ration system.

At the same time, two days before Republic Day, thousands of tractors have reached the border. Around 35 tractors have arrived from Singhu Border Ambala this morning. Tractors are carrying posters “Bharatiya Kisan Union (Chaduni) Ambala se Delhi parade ke liye tractor morcha.” Farmers claim that a large number of tractors are reaching the Singhu border. 

Of these, Jaspreet, a farmer of Ambala, says that we have more than two and a half lakh tractors on the Singhu border. We have more companions who are still on the way. Until the government withdraws the law, it will not leave from here. Sukhveer, a farmer of Ambala, says that we have come after travelling for 10 hours and will go back only after cancelling the law. The tractor rally will put pressure on the government. A long line of tractors is seen coming from Haryana to Delhi, which has been stopped by putting barricades on the border itself.

Road map ready

At the same time, Amarjit Singh Gurdaspur, the Conveyor of National Farmers Organization, says that we are not adamant. We stand against our right, wrong policy. We have prepared the road map. The map given to the police, they have accepted that which we thank. Along with police, it is also our responsibility for security arrangements on Republic Day.

Farmer leader Amarjeet Singh further said that this is a parade, not a tractor rally. Around 1 lakh and more tractors will be present. At the time of independence, the first Republic Day was paraded with a tractor. We will go from the Singhu border towards Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar then to Bawana Kharkhoda and finally return from there. Our total route will be of 100 kilometres.

On Republic Day, a meeting of farmer leaders and police was held at the Mantram Farm House on the last day regarding the tractor rally. In which farmer leaders Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Dr Darshan Pal Singh, Yogendra Yadav and Yudhveer Singh had arrived to take part in the meeting. Apart from UP Police, Haryana Police, Manish Chandra and Dipendra Pathak were present at the meeting on behalf of Delhi Police.
