Rising Phoenix is a real-life film directed by Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui. Netflix distributed the film. The film is to encourage disabled people all over the world in the field of athletics. Many people get bullied or looked down because of thier disabilities. This film proved that nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, and it beautifully portrayed the wonders paralympic athletes can do, which is no less than the athletes. The sole aim of the movie is to encourage paralympic athletes and serve justice and equality in their particular field.

Rising Phoenix released on August 26, 2020, streaming on Netflix. It’s one hour forty-five minutes film which showed the real-life journeys of paralympic athletes. It’s an inspiring journey which encourages other disable people as well the abled people to boost up and live their dreams.

Rising Phoenix featured the below paralympic athletes in the movie! 

• Tatyana McFadden is a Russian paralympic athlete in the T54 category who is disabled from the waist. Her mother abandoned her in an orphanage as she is so inadequate to afford for a wheelchair. Later she was adopted by a U.S health department commissioner of disabilities, Deborah McFadden, who visited Russia. Tatyana focused on building her muscle strength and led her into various sports and gymnastics. She won 17 Paralympic medals in multiple Summer Paralympic Games.
• Bebe Vio Beatrice is an Italian Wheelchair Fencer. She was affected by severe meningitis; the disease slowly spread all over her body, which led to the amputation of her arms and legs. She is the 2016 paralympic champion in the foil B category, 2014 & 2016 European Champion, and, 2015 & 2017 World Champion.

• Jonnie Peacock is an American Sprint runner. At his very young age, when the athlete was five years old, he suffered from severe meningitis which killed the tissues in his right leg and led to amputation. He has a keen interest in playing football when he was at school and had prosthetic leg made. He set a new world record in amputee sprinting in June 2012. He won Gold at the 2014 & 2016 in Summer Paralympics in T44 men’s 100 meters event. 
• Jean-Baptise Alaize is a French Paralympic athlete with the amputated tibia. He was born just three days before the Burundian Civil War took place, which led to the amputation of his leg. He went to France in 1998 to fix prosthetic legs and settled there. He represented France in 2016 Summer Paralympic Games and is the member of ” Champions for Peace” Club.

Though they faced many problems since their childhood, they never gave up. They held to their strengths and represented their countries in the Summer Paralympics and won medals.
