HRD Minster: NTA JEE Advanced 2020 Exam on August 23, JEE Main from July 18 to July 23

Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has announced the dates for JEE (Main and Advanced) while interacting online with students via Twitter and Facebook in an online session. JEE Main 2020 will be conducted from 18 July to 23 July and JEE Advanced 2020 will be conducted on August 23.

HRD Minister has urged students to self-study with the help of digital modes including Diksha, SWAYAM for the preparation of entrance exams. The content will be telecast in a low-connectivity area, through SWAYAM Prabha TV, he informed. Over 200 contents are available on the SWAYAM and SWAYAM Prabha online platform.

The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for admission to IITs was about to held on May 17 but was postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. This entrance exam is conducted for the admission in various undergraduate programs in various IITs. Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced examination.

The JEE Advanced registration process and the other information will be released in due course of time. Around 9 lakh candidates will appear for JEE Main this year and 15 lakh candidates for NEET exam as per the National Testing Agency.

Students can also check the updates for the new dates on the official websites jeemain.nta.nic.in as well as nta.ac.in.

The JEE Main which is about to commence on July 18, 20, 21, 22, and 23, 2020, the admit cards are expected to be released 14 days ahead of the entrance examination.

NEET 2020: Meanwhile, HRD minister has also announced that the medical entrance exam NEET 2020 will be conducted on July 26. National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test was originally about to held on May 3.

To accommodate 15 lakh NEET aspirants, NTA is about to double test centres as NTA is planning to seat two candidates two metres apart which was earlier one meter. This is done to maintain social distancing during the exam.
