CAT 2019: The organizing institute, Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has declared that the IIMs will announce the final PGP short-list candidates based on CAT 2019 results from May 8 onwards. The CAT 2019 results were declared on January 4, 2020.
The CAT registrations recorded the highest numbers in the last 10 years with 244,190 candidates registering for the CAT 2019 online exam. There is also an increase in Female-Male ratio standing at 35.73 % as compared to 35.02% in CAT 2018 in the number of appeared candidates, shared by Cat 2019 Convener, Prof. Shubhasis Dey.
Prof. Shubhasis Dey also thanked the print as well as digital media covering CAT 2019 for their information dissemination and support to the candidates throughout the entire process of CAT 2019. He wished candidates the very best in their academic pursuits.
Conducted at 376 test centres spread across 156 cities in India, about 209,926 candidates successfully appeared for CAT examination held on November 24, 2019.
IIM observers and TCS, the CAT service provider, despite having recorded the highest number of test takers of the decade, considered CAT 2019 to be one of the smoothest CAT examinations.
CAT 2019, once again, clocked the highest number of CAT test-takers in the last 10 years. Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, announcing the successful completion of the conduct of CAT 2019, has said that CAT 2019 was not only a challenge in terms of the sheer intensity of record applicants but also stands the emerging threat of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic during the concluding phase of the exam. This also proved to be a surmountable hindrance to the management institutes to complete the process quickly with the aid of technology and virtual personal interviews.
IIM Kozhikode has also introduced two new programmes for the Academic Year 2020-21:
- MBA in Liberal Studies and Management (MBA – LSM)
- Post Graduate Programme in Finance (PGP-Finance)
IIM Kozhikode is now currently under the ‘Personal Interview’ phase of selection that will be processed online for the shortlisted candidates.
