CLAT 2020: Exam postponed again, to be held on September 28

The Common Law Admission Test has been postponed; September 28 will be the date of the examination.

CLAT 2020: CLAT is a national level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law program offer by 22 National Law University in the country every year. The common law admission test has again been postponed. The decision of postponing the CLAT exam has been taken by the Consortium of National Law University. According to the official announcement, Common Law Admission Test will be held on September 28.

The decision of postponing the CLAT exam has been taken in a review meeting of the executive committee on August 27, 2020.

In the meeting, the executive took the major decision after considering the ongoing situation of COVID-19.

At the meeting, the executive appraises the current scenario of prevailing lockdown in various parts of the country due to the increasing case of COVID-19 positive patient. Continuation of the lockdown in the state of Bihar till 6 September and the lockdown announced in the state of West Bengal for the date of September, 7 is the major reason of postponing the date of exam, Committee said.

The decision must be welcomed by the many students as the committee took the decision for their welfare. In the time of pandemic and natural disaster, it is not easy for the student to sit calmly in the examination hall while their mind is filled with the thought of catching risk. Putting their lives at risk is not the intellectual decision as other committees are doing. It will be welcomed by the nation.

It is not the first time that the official committee has postponed the exam. It was earlier postponed two times by considering the health of students.

It was earlier scheduled on September 7, 2020, for both UG and PG candidates but for now, it will be conducted on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 2 pm to 4 pm, the statement added.

They also said, if there is any update regarding the CLAT schedule and information that will be provided on the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

CLAT exam will be conducted in online mode at assigned centre across the country. Candidates have to answer 150 questions in an exam duration of two hours.
