IIT Roorkee to Offer Online Courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning And Data Analytics

IIT Roorkee Online Courses: Roorkee will offer advanced certification courses in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and Data Analytics. The six-month-long course consists of video lectures, team projects, hands-on learning opportunities, tutorials, and workshops. The IIT has partnered with the online learning platform Coursera for a global audience. Both the courses will be available in early 2021 on the platform.

The online certification course will help students in learning coding and core mathematics necessary for building expertise in AI/ML besides equipping with classical Machine Learning techniques and algorithms, robust ML production, programming with TensorFlow for easy model building, and powerful experimentation among others.

Prof. Ajit K Chaturvedi, Director, IIT-Roorkee said in a statement that the institute is delighted to partner with the online learning platform Coursera to fulfil the goal of inclusive education of the NEP, New Education Policy. Further, this partnership will help the institute to reach out to a global audience of professionals aspiring for quality teaching and students in these areas. AI and MI, and Data Analytics course will be available on Coursera in early 2021.

Coursera is now a leading online learning platform for students, professionals, learners for higher education. The online platform has provided a mix of guided projects, free and paid courses, MasterTrack™ Certificates, and specializations to 67 million learners from around the world across 190 countries.

IIT Roorkee data analytics course helps learners to focus on core areas of Data Science, Machine Learning, Data Collection, Critical Thinking, Data Visualisation, and Data Management. The course also includes programming skills in SQL relevant and Python, algorithms used in data analytics.

The course will also build knowledge about the selected Machine Learning (ML) algorithms such as SVM, linear models, kNN, Random forest, Trees, and neural networks and much more. With no prior knowledge of coding in Python, R, or SQL, the student can apply for the online course. The IIT online courses are job-relevant and will help students in the near future.
