26/11 accused Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi granted bail in Pakistan

Zaki ur Rehman Lakhvi, the prime suspect considered to be the mastermind behind the 26/11 attack in Mumbai has been granted bail by the Pakistani court of anti-terrorism. The decision by the court has sent waves of angry, and disappointed Indians who took on social media websites like twitter and facebook to express their dismay.

The controversial decision was made on Thursday. The court claimed the evidence provided by India was weak and not enough to nail the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist.

Reacting to this, Home minister Rajnath Singh said that India had given Pakistan enough evidences to charge him guilty of the Mumbai massacre he also said that it was very unfortunate and should not have happened.

There are reports that even though Lakhvi has been granted bail he is still serving detention.

The Pakistan Government in a bid to maintain its much disputed friendly ties with India are looking forward to appeal to cancel the bail in a higher court.

It was just days ago that Pakistan was rocked by the Peshawar school attack where more than 140 children lost their lives, and just a day before the court decision that Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif vowed to fight terrorism with greater force, but the recent court hearing seems to make a mockery of that very commitment.
