Perfect combination of new features and affordability

Until last month, if you wanted to buy an Apple Watch, you would have to spend big bucks to get the latest model or go for a less pricey older model. The tech giant’s latest watch is perfect for people who want to get useful features at a considerably affordable price range.

Apple Watch SE: Release date and price

The Watch SE is already available in the Indian market. At the moment, two variants of the watch are available. Apple has set the price of the two at Rs 29,900 for the GPS version, and Rs 33,900 for the GPS+Cellular variant.

Apple Watch SE: Design

Apple has kept the designs for the Watch SE pretty much the same as the previous models. The latest smartwatch is available in three colour options – Silver, Space Gray, and Gold. Plus, buyers can choose between the two size options at 40mm or 44mm. Unfortunately, the Apple Watch does not have the always-on display.

Specs

The budget smartwatch from Apple has a display of 368 x 448 pixels for the 44mm variant, and 324 x 394 pixels for the 40mm version. It is powered by the Apple S5 system and boasts storage of 32GB. Also, it supports the brand new WatchOS7.

Features

For an affordable smartwatch, the Apple Watch SE comes with tons of features. Essentially, it retains most of the options available on its predecessor, the Apple Watch 5. The Watch SE provides a lot of health tracking options including heart rate monitor, sleep tracking, workout tracker etc. Plus, it allows users to contact emergency services and contacts in case of any necessity.

However, the smartwatch does not feature Apple’s latest inclusion, the blood oxygen reader. The newest option is included in the Apple Watch 6, because of the feature’s importance in pandemic times. Furthermore, the ECG option is also missing from the budget model.

Apart from those features, Apple Watch SE does a pretty solid job. At 50 metres, it has a reasonable water resistibility. Plus, the battery life, though not great, is similar to the Apple Watch Series 6 and other models.
