There is a start to testing support for messaging style by Whatsapp in inline images. This is for the notification panel. Previously Whatsapp was having the feature of showing inline images in the notification bar but this time it is a bit different and advanced. It now supports the notification format of new messaging style which will help in collapsing and expanding the inline images in the future. The new feature is being tested in Beta channel. Another update which came to sight is the new pack of whatsapp stickers which is known as the biscuit stickers.

This change was spotted in the Beta version v2.18.291. The phone which runs on Android 9 pie is only capable of supporting this feature. Moreover, it will show the preview of the pictures in the notification bar. However this new feature is not valid for videos and GIFs, they will be shown as the way they are used to be shown. The feature will not be applicable for phones with old Android version not even on Android Oreo.

The whatsapp stickers feature may have been added but the feature is disabled by default.
