Washington University in St. Louis extends partnership with iTether Technologies in project designed to serve individuals with substance use disorders


ST. LOUIS, Sept. 16, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — iTether Technologies, Inc. and Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) have extended their partnership for a fifth consecutive year to continue serving individuals with substance use disorders through iTether’s digital care technology. Building on the success the program has had, the team will be expanding services to support broader populations in the Midwestern United States.

97% of users reported that the app was useful to stay motivated to work on their recovery.

With the support of iTether, a Phoenix-based digital care management company, WUSTL is currently working with 16 community health centers across Missouri and will expand into the Illinois region to help pregnant and postpartum mothers in recovery.

Together with her team, Dr. Cavazos-Rehg performs clinical research to examine the impact of technology on improving health and wellbeing among individuals by utilizing iTether’s platform to digitally engage participants during their recovery journey.

The program has already shown the effectiveness of remote patient engagement with 97% of users reporting that the app was useful to stay motivated to work on their recovery. The goal for the coming year is to continue to expand outreach and services through the app to improve outcomes for more individuals experiencing substance use disorder.
