Media Advisory – OSIRIS-REx: Canada's first participation in an asteroid sample-return mission – Technical briefing for media

LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 11, 2023 /CNW/ – On September 13, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. ET, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) will hold a virtual briefing for media representatives on Canada’s role in NASA’s OSIRIS-REx mission.

OSIRIS-REx marks the first time Canada is participating in an asteroid sample return. Thanks to the CSA’s contribution of the OSIRIS-REx Laser Altimeter (OLA), Canada will receive a portion of the asteroid Bennu sample, which is expected to land on September 24, 2023.

Media representatives who wish to participate must register in advance by contacting the CSA’s Media Relations Office: asc.medias-media.csa@asc-csa.gc.ca. The event link (Zoom) and instructions for the question-and-answer session will be provided.
