Dominican Songwriter Janix Mendez wants to be heard and seen as an LGBTQ+ activist and advocate now and more than ever. After the success on her first ever single “Isaiah”, Mendez started to experience a bit of what it feels like to be known and her response to it? “It’s destabilizing”. NEW YORK, July 26, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Dominican Songwriter Janix Mendez wants to be heard and seen as an LGBTQ+ activist and advocate now and more than ever. After the success on her first ever single “Isaiah”, Mendez started to experience a bit of what it feels like to be known and her response to it? “It’s destabilizing”. Mendez explained how the song was written in under 3 minutes, just to be shocked at whoever took their time to hear what she calls now-adays “a Mistake”.

Mendez:

“I was in my room, I was bored, I didn’t know what to do that day, and my mom was at work. I went to my little office in the corner of my room with my computer and I just tried to write a melody that could sound loving, spacious, really…flowers, roses type, and then I got the name from that thought, I was like, why not write a song for my boyfriend at the time maybe show him that I care for him and from there, Isaiah was born. But I never thought it would lead me to have rare panic attacks and most social anxiety to a max level of probably 1,000.”

Mendez is now recovering from her social anxiety disorder, looking forward to be known and heard as an LGBTQ+ advocate and activist.
