WASHINGTON, Nov. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — CGTN America releases CGTN Launches Documentary Series “China Aspirations”

CGTN is launching a four-episode documentary series “China Aspirations” from November 24th to 27th. The series showcases a year-long journey of 24 groups of people from all lines of work across four continents to find out why China has become what it is today and what it might do in the future.

The first episode “New Cool” takes viewers on a journey to discover how China brings new life to its 5,000-year-old history. From ancient poetry to the armor of historic warriors, and from elegant garments to modern day animation, and from China’s space odyssey to the country’s romance with the Olympics.

“New Cool” tells the story of 33-year-old Lin Hun, who created one of China’s biggest animation hits in 2020. Chinese animators have a solid tradition of creating masterpieces of unique style with high artistic value. In recent decades, however, their style has lost ground to foreign competition that is often more entertaining, industrialized and of greater commercial value. But this never stops Chinese animation lovers from making exquisite comics and animations of their own.

The first episode introduces viewers to Hanfu, a type of traditional Chinese clothes, has made a comeback in China. Many are looking back to traditional Chinese culture with a renewed sense of identity. Meanwhile, new millennials are bringing new vibes to this centuries-old style of clothing, making it fashionable and adapting it to contemporary daily life.

In the second episode “Money Stories”, the documentary shows how a LiDAR start-up in southern China and the NEV manufacturing giant BYD are trying to reshape the automobile industry. The episode also shows how an inland city in China has become one of the fastest growing cities in China, and in North China’s Inner Mongolia, China’s largest open-pit coal mine is seeing changes to adapt for the future.
