FREDERICK, Md., Sept. 12, 2022  /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Premier advisory firm, Brown Schultz Sheridan & Fritz (BSSF), is pleased to announce that Carrie S. Small, CPA, MST, has joined the Firm as a Tax Principal within the BSSF Insurance Practice.

Carrie has over 20 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to privately held and public companies, with a specialization in insurance taxation. Prior to joining BSSF, Carrie most recently served as an Insurance Tax Practice Leader for a top national accounting firm, where she created, grew and led the firm’s National Insurance Tax Practice.

Within the BSSF Insurance Practice, Carrie specializes in providing tax compliance, tax provision and tax consulting services to insurance entities.

Carrie is passionate about the insurance industry and is highly active with numerous professional associations within the insurance community. She has served as a subject matter expert for the Pennsylvania Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (PAMIC) and the Insurance Accounting & Systems Association (IASA). She is also a member of the Insurance Tax Conference (ITC), an annual tax conference that promotes the networking, best practice sharing and mentoring between insurance tax professionals across the country.

Carrie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants (WICPA). She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Marquette University, as well as her Master of Science in Taxation (MST) degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The MST degree distinguishes exceptional tax professionals who are well-versed on the theoretical and technical aspects of taxes and tax law.

Carrie will be working remotely from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, though she will travel to provide on-site tax compliance and advisory services to BSSF clients as needed.
