Early Life and Career

Sushant Singh Rajput was born in Patna, Bihar, India on January 21, 1986, to Krishna Kumar Singh and Usha Singh. His mother died in 2002 and the family shifted from Patna to Delhi.

He did his schooling from St. Karen’s High School in Patna and later went to Kulachi Hansraj Model School in New Delhi. In 2003, he had ranked 7th in the DCE Entrance Exam and got admission in the Delhi College of Engineering in the class of Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering).

Well, the Rajput was all-rounder as he was a National Olympiad Winner in Physics and had cleared 11 engineering entrance exams, including that for the Indian School of Mines. He then started participating in theatre and dance (Shiamak Davar’s dance classes) due to which his grades went down and then ultimately left DCE (6 months before completing the graduation) to pursue a career in acting. He completed an only a three-year course of graduation.

While at Shiamak Davar’s dance classes, he was selected to be one of the groups of background dancers at the 51st Filmfare Awards and also got chance to perform in the cultural program at the 2006 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony.

Personal Life

The actor was a great believer of Shiva and use to talk about him on social media about the cosmic importance of ‘Om’ and how the universe revolves around Lord Shiva. Also, he had a keen interest in learning the various mysteries of the space including celestial bodies and used to talk a lot about the stars, the moon, the sun.


Sushant Singh Rajput was in a six-year relationship with the television actor Ankita Lokhande until the duo broke up in 2016. According to some media reports, he uses to date Raabta co-actor Kirti Sanon and has now reportedly dated Rhea Chakraborty.
