Conor Mcgregor was born in Crumlin, Dublin on July 14, 1988, to Tony and Margaret McGregor. He did his schooling form in Coláiste de hÍde in Tallaght and played football for Lourdes Celtic Football Club.

Mcgregor has professionally started his career in 2008 when he signed a contract with UFC, Ultimate Fighting Championship. His debut match was against Marcus Brimage which he won.
