How to change the address on Aadhar card?
Do you want to change an address on an aadhar card? Then this can be done by both online and offline methods.
- through the online portal uidai.gov.in. you can ask for an address update. It is one of the online service given by the UIDAI.
- Through the post, you can send your aadhar card address along with your documents to the head office of Aadhar card.
Procedures for Aadhar card address change via online method
Step 1:
Open the website uidai.gov.in.
Step 2:
Click ‘Address Update Request (Online)’ link on the homepage.
Step 3:
Enter your 12-digit Aadhar number
Step 4:
Click on ‘Send OTP’ to continue.
Step 5:
Enter this OTP which you have received instantly in your regis
tered mobile number in the UIDAI portal
Step 6:
Click on to ‘Login’ to continue
Step 7:
Choose ‘address’ on the page
Step 8:
Carefully fill the correct new address details.
Once address is submitted URN (Update Request Number) will be generated to track the status of application
Verify the entered details properly. You need to Scan and upload a valid document for the proof of your address. Attest only the valid documents to prevent application rejection
Required documents include voter id, passport, bank passbook, driving license, bank statement, ration card, electricity bill and phone bills which must not be older than 3months,
Procedures for Aadhar card address change via online method
Step 1:
Visit the official website of UIDAI
Step 2:
In the Aadhar update panel click on the link Address Update Request -by post.
Step 3:
Download the application form to enter the information (in capital letters)
Ensure address details appropriately
Step 4:
Send a self-attested copy along with the form.
Step 5:
Write the title Aadhar Address update request on the envelope
Step 6:
For Aadhar card address change Include valid supporting documents (for the validation of address) with form in an envelope and send it to the below address

Once the application is received by post at the head office, they will confirm either by mobile number or may send an approval letter to the given address.
You must send Identity supporting documents (as we mentioned in online method) such as :
- Driving license
- Bank Statement
- Electricity/water bills
- Income Tax filings etc.
- Passport(if you have)
- PAN card
- Bank passbook(first page)
