Lenovo to focus more on Motorola brand this years, denies report of scrapping Moto branding

The future of brandMotorola’ has been pretty unclear after it was taken over by Lenovo. The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 at Las Vegas ended with many questions about the Motorola as an independent brand.  The experts pointed out that the Lenovo wants better integration with its subsidiary in order to achieve good results.

Motorola answered to all the queries and comments through a blogpost. The post said that in the upcoming year, ‘Moto by Lenovo’ will be a major focus of the company. It means that both companies are going to integrate their product range and will be approaching Moto and Vibe brands together. But Lenovo executives had some other thoughts at CES 2016.

Lenovo’s Smartphone Business VP for Asia Pacific, Dillon Ye informed press that they just aim to create synergy between two brands. One should expect exchange of important features between two.

According to Lenovo, Motorola phones are all about premium experience of stock android with faster software upgrades. The Lenovo phones are more about better user experience within budget. But the company is going to combine good features of both brands in upcoming models. The end of much popular Moto G series has not been confirmed by the top management of Lenovo.

Lenovo’s smartphone division is getting dominated by the research team from Motorola since last year. It has changed how the Lenovo handled its smartphone business in past. The ‘Moto’ will remain as a primary phone brand for the company just like ThinkPad of IBM.
