Flipkart is back with Big Billion Days

Indian e-commerce giant ‘Flipkart’ is back with its flagship sale ‘Big Billion Days’. This time the mega sale will be held during October 13 to 17. Strangely, company has informed that the special offers during sale will be only available through Flipkart app. Last year, Big Billion Day received mixed reactions from the people due to several technical problems. Flipkart had to apologise to its customers for automatic order cancellations and items running out of stock. This year company has promised specialized training and manpower management to handle large scale of the event.

The company has launched ‘Flipkart Helping Hands’ and ‘Flipkart Seller Campus’ to bring around 6,000 sellers under one roof. Flipkart officials have acknowledged that online selling of product is new for many sellers but with proper guidance businesses will be able to handle peak demands efficiently. In order to make operations faster, sellers have been trained in inventory management this year. Skillventory, a talent firm has tied up with Flipkart to train sellers in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Surat and Mumbai. These five cities attract maximum orders on the website.

Under Flipkart Seller Campus programme, each vendor receives four-hour training on inventory management during high demand. The company is training vendor to boost sales during festival season along with creating customized dashboard to promote products. The sellers are also being informed about trust, safely and return policies of Flipkart. The trainers are using classroom and web conferencing to conduct classes. Flipkart Helping Hands programme is going provide additional manpower to the small sellers during festive seasons so there would be no shortage of staff on any site.
