Brace yourselves, Apple stores are coming to India

Long lines outside Apple store before any mega product launch would be regular sight in India soon. The legendary Apple stores are coming to Indian markets. The global electronics giant plans to open its stores across six locations in India with the help of domestic retail partner Croma, TATAs electronics retailing arm. The pilot project would decide further expansion of Apple in Indian markets. The Apple stores are known for their quality service and top notch design standards. Apple’s retail stores ensure best experience to customers.

The Apple stores will be open to public by Diwali. In Mumbai, country’s financial capital, each store will occupy area of 400-500 square feet in five prime locations across the city. Initially Croma stores located at Oberoi mall, phoenix mall, Malad, Juhu and Ghatkopar will host these stores.  India’s tech city Bengaluru will get its first Apple store at Jayanagar.

The Apple stores are known for its signature lighting, furniture and design. Even glass staircases at the store are patented by Apple. The same world class experience will be available for Indian customers.   The staff will be trained by Apple. The company has been trying to enter into Indian retail market since years but couldn’t do so due to strong legal barriers such as local-sourcing clauses in FDI policy. The collaboration with Croma will let Apple bypass many legal hurdles and provide expertise on domestic market.

Apple definitely has big plans for India in future with its OEM manufacturer setting up plant in the state of Maharashtra soon. CEO Tim Cook’s meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened many opportunities for Apple in India. The country is fastest growing market for Apple and therefore company wants to expand its retail foot print here.
