XIaomi Mi MIX 2S high-end model specs confirmed by Xiaomi CEO

Xiaomi is all set to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, called Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s. On 27th March, the company is holding an event at 2 PM in Shanghai, China to launch the phone. The Mi MIX 2s is the first flagship smartphone of the Xiaomi for this year and a first smartphone from China that powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset on board. Today, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed some high-end Xiaomi MI MIX 2s model specs.

On the Weibo, Lie Jun posted and revealed the specs of the high-end configuration Xiaomi MI MIX 2s model. According to him, the XIaomi’s MI MIX 2s will be powered by Qualcomm latest Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood along with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB internal storage. The phone will come with the four-sided curved ceramic body. The AI-driven dual camera sensors on the back side which is one of the major highlights of the Mi MIX 2S. The dual rear camera sensors will support Full HD quality slow-motion video recording, scene detection and more. The phone is expected to come with wireless charging support.

According to the Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, The latest Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset is pretty good in performance and features. But there is one major drawback that’s not related any of its features or performance. He said that the price of the new Snapdragon 845 chipset including 17% vat, standard VAT value exceeds 500 Yuan (~$80). Lei Jun said that the price of the Snapdragon 845 chipset is about three times more than the Snapdragon 660 chipset. The SD660 chipset used in the Xiaomi’s upper mid-range smartphones. Currently, Xiaomi’s 6 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM Mi Note 3 selling at 2,099 Yuan ($332) price tag. The price of Snapdragon 845 chipset adding on it, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 price is $2,599 Yuan (~$411). The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s is expected to come with full-screen view design, dual rear camera sensors. With these features, the basic model of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage price could be increased to 3,000 Yuan ($490).

Currently, 6 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage Mi MIX 2 is available at 3,099 Yuan (~$490) price tag. Hence, it is expected that the lower configuration variant of the MI MIX 2s will be available at slightly higher price tag of 3,299 Yuan (~$522).
