TikTok enters eLearning market with the launch of the EduTok

TikTok, which is the short form video-making platform, has now revealed the launch of the #EduTok Program, a multi-phased integrated initiative aligned with the wider objective of democratizing learning for the Indian digital community on the platform.

#EduTok has witnessed a great user response, since its inception into the market. To date, around 10 million pieces of content were already created and shared with the help of a #EduTok hashtag, which has even garnered around 48 billion views and has also been shared 1.8 billion times on TikTok.

Taking learning online to offline with the #EduTok Mentoring Program. With the help of this new initiative, TikTok forges collaboration with leading social enterprises, Josh Talks, and the Nudge Foundation to launch a mentorship program. The program is also aimed at supporting all the first time internet users to gain knowledge by giving them access to high-quality educational content which is created by TikTok creators and educational organizations for millions of TikTok users who are willing to learn.

As a part of this mentorship program, Josh Talks will be going to organize 25 #EduTok workshops that were 5000 creative individuals that will be shortlisted and invited to attend a hands-on learning workshop delivered by a popular and existing #EduTok Creator. For the workshops which are going to happen, The Nudge Foundation will also tailor-make content for these young individuals covering critical topics such as skill development, identity building, soft skills, career planning, job readiness. The workshops will be organized over six months, starting from October 2019 till March 2020.
