All most every smartphone manufacturers around the world are following the Apple iPhone Notch design and offering the same feature on their phones. Vivo and OPPO, both the smartphone companies that BBK Electronics launched Vivo X21, Vivo V9, OPPO R15, R15 Dream Mirror and OPPO F7, recently with same notch design. Now another smartphone brand, OnePlus that also belongs to BBK Electronics is working on notch design phone, so-called OnePlus 6. Now the first official OnePlus 6 image posted by the co-founder of OnePlus Carl Pei that confirms a notch design display phone will be coming.
The Essential and sharp Aquos S2 phone were the first phones that featured with notch display design, launched in 2017. According to the Carl Pei, The phone will offer nearly 90% screen-to-body ratio. It will also offer more screen space compared to the earlier OnePlus phones.
The company could make the Notch design smaller like the Essential Phone, but OnePlus wanted to keep selfie camera, an earpiece, notification LED, proximity and ambient sensors which makes notch design slightly larger. But the notch will be smaller than the Apple’s iPhone X because the company doesn’t feel it needs to have Face ID tactics for face recognition. The Carl Pei revealed the exact size of the OnePlus 6 notch: 19.616mm x 7.687mm.
The company has manually done is test 1,000 apps from the Google Play Store to make sure the notch works well on different apps. After this test, OnePlus has decided to shift the position of the clock towards the left side of the display to allow more message for taskbar icons. The company will also conceal the notch while playing a video on the OnePlus 6 to offers without cutout view. Also, the phone will also be supporting gesture-based inputs.
Recently, the Carl Pei ran a poll on twitter for keeping 3.5mm audio jack port and his followers voted overwhelmingly in favor of keeping the headphone jack. Evan Blass, a leakster posted an image of OnePlus 6 and claimed that the phone would have a 3.5mm audio jack, USB-C port and an external speaker grille. The vertically placed dual camera and a fingerprint scanner on the back side.
Also, the OnePlus 6 was spotted on Geekbench recently that revealed some specs of it. According to the Geekbench database, The phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset under the hood along with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage. There is also a recently leaked report that suggests that the higher configuration model will come with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. It could be packed with 3,450mAh battery inside the body.
