Facebook apps will soon shatter their doors from Microsoft Windows phone. Microsoft phones will not be able to access Facebook, Instagram, Messenger from 30 April. Windows Phone users will have to resort to using Web versions of these services. Microsoft in their further notice stated that they will stop issuing security updates for Windows phone.
Facebook has announced that it is dropping support for the apps on the windows phone 8 and 8.1 soon. It went on so quickly that it doesn’t have time to its users to switch it off. Facebook confirmed that it will end up their support for its apps from 30 April.
Facebook’s apps like Messenger, Instagram will no longer be accessed to Windows phone. You will have to upgrade your OS or to a new device if you want to keep using Facebook post-March. Windows Phone users may get connected to this app via a browser.
Last year Slack also end support for Windows app.
Microsoft in their notice also mentioned that they would roll out windows phone in 2016, but this couldn’t be possible as large no.of people are using Windows phone, but the company stated that there will not be any further updates regarding this phone. Microsoft announced that it would end security updates for Windows 10 mobile from December 2019.
Microsoft advised its users to change it to Android or IOS.
“With the Windows 10 mobile OS end of support, we recommend to the customers that they should take Android or IOS devices. Microsoft mission statement to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more completes us to support our mobile apps on those platforms” stated on their support page.
Facebook’s apps have been in many delegations since last 3-4 months. It has received downfall for servers, fall of users and many more. Instagram, WhatsApp has also laid down their standards of dealing with their users. But despite that Facebook, always showed a positive character to increase its users and they have improved their services to indulge more and more users to this app.
