Flipkart announces the return of the Big Billion Days

The online sale will start on 16 October

Flipkart, the online retailer, has now confirmed the date of their annual sale event, the Big Billion Days 2020. The Walmart owned retail giants had previously teased the announcement. Now, they have revealed that the sale will start on 16 October, and will run for six days, until 21 October. Flipkart Plus customers, however, will have access to the deal a day before, on 15 October.

The Big Billion Days are Flipkart’s biggest yearly sale event. During it, the company offers massive offers and discounts on various products. For this year’s edition of the sale event, Flipkart is offering great deals on electronics and accessories, mobiles, TV, home appliances etc. Of course, it is just the tip of the iceberg; customers can check out several other categories which provide good discounts.

Furthermore, Flipkart has confirmed that they have partnered with the State Bank of India specifically for the Big Billion Days 2020. According to the online retailer, the new partnership between the companies will let SBI cardholders get an extra ten per cent discount on top of the existing offers. Plus, shoppers who have a credit or debit card from any leading bank, will be eligible for no-cost EMI options during the sale. As for Paytm users, they will get cashback upon purchase using Paytm UPI or Paytm Wallet.

Flipkart, however, is not the only online retailer to offer great offers during the festive season. Amazon too has its big sale event titled The Great Indian Festival. We expect them to announce the dates of The Great Indian Festival 2020 very soon.

In the last few months, online shopping has seen tremendous growth throughout India. As the lockdown enforced shops to be closed, people flocked to online retailers such as Flipkart and Amazon to fulfil their shopping needs. Both the retailers have already capitalised on the current situation by providing grocery services in major Indian cities. Flipkart has recently reported that they had significantly expanded its grocery store system. It further claimed that the company aims to provide a personalised experience to customers in more than 850 cities.
