AMD unveils Radeon RX 6900 XT GPU

The most powerful offering from AMD to date

After much anticipation from fans, AMD has finally announced the Radeon RX 6000 series of graphics cards. The tech giants further unveiled the Radeon RX 6900 XT, their most advanced GPU to date. At the moment, AMD is in the midst of a hot streak. A few weeks ago, the tech company announced the new Ryzen series of processors, which AMD claims to be superior to Nvidia’s processors. And now, their latest launch, the Radeon RX 6900 XT, is set to compete with Nvidia’s flagship card, the RTX 3090.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT: Release date

Unlike the two other cards from the RX 6000 series, the Radeon RX 6900 XT will not release until December. AMD has already confirmed that the product will go on sale on December 8. However, in regards to India, the cards might arrive early 2021. Moreover, AMD has priced its flagship GPU at $999. Still, in India, it might come with a hefty price tag. At the moment, reports suggest the card will cost over one lakh INR.

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT: Specs

AMD has based the Radeon RX 6900 XT on the RDNA 2 GPU architecture. It further boasts a 16GB GDDR6 memory. Furthermore, with 80 computing units, the card features a game clock of 2015 MHz, which can be further boosted to 2250 MHz. It also supports Infinity cache, Smart Access memory, although a Ryzen 5000 processor is needed to use the feature, and DirectX12 Ultimate. Plus, with a total board power of only 300W, the Radeon RX 6900 XT seems to be very energy efficient.

AMD has already hailed the RX 6900 XT as the next significant PC gaming evolution, and we couldn’t agree more. With its hardware, the graphics card is sure to churn out stunning visuals at insanely fast speed. According to the company, the GPU can easily give a 4K performance. Additionally, the Ray Tracing and variable rate shading feature give the product an enormous advantage. 

The card can be reportedly capable of running Doom Eternal at 150fps, Forza Horizon 4 at 169fps, and Battlefield 5 at 122fps.
