Now get your first job through LinkedIn Placements

The LinkedIn has launched its new feature called LinkedIn Placements. The product was created in India in order to make a loyal user base among students community in the country.  The website is known as world’s largest network of professionals. For the first time the company developed the product outside traditional markets such as the United States and China.

Placements are aimed at getting students their first jobs. India has dynamic student community with a large number of graduates passing out each year. The feature is going help recruiters to find freshers. Colleges’ placement call can also use the LinkedIn now to manage its campus recruitment programs.

The company is running this feature in India on a pilot basis and the feedback given by Indian users will decide the global launch of the product. The testing phase should last for around twelve to eighteen months. Ganesan Venkatasubramanian , head of engineering, LinkedIn India said that the company surveyed number of recruiters, placement officers and students. The unanimous demand was to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the campus placement program.  More than 6 million students graduate in India each year and that means you need a strong network to connect to recruiters.

Naukri.com has also launched a website for similar purpose called Firstnaukri.com few months ago. The LinkedIn is giving importance to India because it is fastest growing market for the company. The company also operates its research and development office in the country. Currently, LinkedIn has 33 million users in India. LinkedIn placement would be completely free for its users and the company cleared that they are not looking for any financial profits from the product, which took six months to develop.
