Moto E (Gen 2) Launched

On Wednesday, Motorola Finally made the “Exciting Announcement” that it hinted last week. The Lenovo owned company has finally announced the next generation of Moto E in two variants namely Motorola Moto E (Gen2) with a 3g support and Motorola Moto E (gen2) LTE featuring 4G LTE support. Considering the popularity of its ‘budget Smartphone’ Moto E, the announcement created quite a buzz in the market.

In a blog post, Motorola announced that the new Motorola Moto E (Gen2) and Motorola Moto E (gen2) LTE will begin rolling out in more than 50 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. Being the successors of Hit budget Smartphone Moto E, Moto E (Gen2) with a 3g support is priced at Rs. 7400 ( $119.99 ) and Motorola Moto E (gen2) LTE featuring 4G LTE support is priced at Rs. 9200 ( $149.99 ).

“We’re introducing the next generation, packed with more features and functionality to give people around the world even greater access to life’s possibilities- without a hefty price tag,” the Company stated.

The new variants function with Android 5.0 lollipop and support a 4.5 inch, 540 x 960p display and corning gorilla glass 3 protection. A 0.3mp front camera is an added feature in the new variants. The original Moto E lacked a front camera. The new variants have 64-bit quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chips which is definitely better than the original Moto E that had 1.2GHz dual core Snapdragon 200 chip. Also, the connectivity options in the new generation include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0LE, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, and Micro-USB. The handset measures 129.9×66.8×12.3mm, and weighs 145 grams. It is backed by a 2390mAh battery, significantly larger than the previous generation.

Similar to the other products in the Moto series, both these new variants come in either black or white color with interchangeable Bands in colors like Golden Yellow, turquoise, blue, purple, red etc.

For now, merely the announcement has created enough excitement in the minds of the Moto lovers which should encourage the company to a greater extent. Owing to the success of its previous budget smart phones, it’ll be interesting to see the kind of reviews the product gathers by its users once it is physically available for usage.
