Google launches new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in India

New Nexus smartphones, Google’s flagship devices are finally available in India. The latest version Nexus 5X will be up for sale through various offline and online channels. The company has priced 16GB version at Rs.31, 990 and Rs.35, 990 for 32GB version. The Flipkart customers will be blessed by special offer. For each pre-booking of Nexus 6P, the customer will get free Chromecast, Google’s streaming device. The pre-orders begin on October 21 at 2PM for Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

Amazon and Flipkart will be responsible for online distribution of both devices. Nexus 5X is made by Google’s traditional favourite LG and will be up for sale on Amazon India. Google is giving a chance to Chinese giant Huawei for manufacturing Nexus 6P. The phone will be available on Flipkart.

Google has launched two versions of its flagship device for the first time.  Nexus 6P made by Huawei will have 5.7 inch QuadHD AMOLED display with the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Nexus 5X manufactured by Seoul based LG will have 5.2 inch full HD display covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Both screens have pixel density of 518ppi and 423ppi respectively.

For the first time, an android device will sport fingerprint scanner such as iPhone. But Google has fixed the scanner on the rear side of the device. The fingerprint scanner can be used to verify purchases on Google Play Store.

While the Nexus 6P is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chipset with 64 bit architecture clocked at 2.00GHz, Nexus 5X has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with hexa-core setup. The Nexus 6P has 3GB of RAM.

In camera department, Google has provided 12.3MP primary sensors with 4K video recording on both devices. Selfie lovers can take advantage of 8MP front facing camera on Nexus 6P. Nexus 5X has 5MP front facing shooter. Rapid charging is another advantage of the new devices. With 10 min of charging, Nexus 6P’s 3,450mAh battery will give 7 hours of use. Nexus 5X’s 2700mAh battery is expected to give 3.8 hours of medium use with 10 min of charging.
