Blackberry launched its latest and the much awaited Classic at Manhattan’s upscale Cipriani restaurant on Wednesday. This phone is comes with a promise of more features more durability and more performance as compared to its older versions and as per the demand of today’s smartphone users. The phone is reported to have been priced at $449 in the US and that it is already on sale on Amazon.com and shopblackberry.com.
Trailing behind and losing money, and surviving because of its some 34million users who use it out of loyalty, Blackberry CEO John Chen believes with the introduction of Classic in the market and its recent release of its Passport smartphones, Blackberry might come back into the level of competition with the other elite brands like it used to some years ago.
This phone is set to come with a qwerty physical keypad and a trackpad, an 8 mega pixel rear and a 2 mega pixel front camera, a 3.5 inch square screen with touch screen features. The phone will also provide access to Android and Blackberry apps in the Blackberry World.
The phone runs on Blackberry’s latest 10.3.1 OS with a browser that runs three times faster than its previous 9900. The Battery is also said to last for 22 hours when used constantly. It also comes with an expandable memory card of up to 144GB and runs on a 1.5GHz Qualcom snapdragon processor.
After a survey revealing that the smartphone users these days are interested in using a physical keypad as compared to the touchscreen ones, John Chen believes the Classic will attract a lot of people in the global market
