Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Plus flagship smartphone looks very pretty, it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as on the back side of the phone. It has an aluminium frame and rounded corners. It comes with almost bezels less design on both sides. It features a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2960 pixels of resolution with 18:9 Aspect ratio. It offers ~84.0% screen-to-body ratio and around 529 PPI density. The phone is certified by an IP68 certificate which makes it dust and water proof smartphone over 1.5 meters and 30 minutes. The phone is available in Midnight Black, Orchid Gray, Arctic Silver, Coral Blue, Maple Gold and Rose Pink color options.
Samsung has launched two variants of the Galaxy S8 Plus which are powered by a different processor. The first one comes with Octa-core CPU under the hood along with Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is available in USA & China. While the other variant of the phone comes with Octa-core CPU with the company’s own Exynos 8895 Octa, which is available in other markets. The CPU of the Galaxy S8 Plus Snapdragon 835 chipset variant clocks at two different speed, first Quad-core CPU clocks at 2.35 GHz Kryo and another Quad-core CPU clocks at 1.9 GHz Kryo. The Exynos 8895 Galaxy S8 Plus CPU also clocks at two different GHz. The first four cors clocks at 2.3 GHz Mongoose M2 and other four cores clocks at 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus available in two different ROM and RAM size in the market. In one model you will get 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage option. While the another Galaxy S8 model has 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Both the model supports micro SD card up to 256 GB (uses SIM 2 slot). For the graphics performance, the company used Adreno 540 GPU for USA and China model while for the other markets, the Galaxy S8 Plus comes with Mali-G71 MP20 GPU on board. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system out of the box and upgradeable to Android 8.0 Oreo.
The Galaxy S8+ is featured with a 12-megapixel camera on the back side along with f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash. It supports Auto HDR, simultaneous 4K video and 9MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection, Geo-tagging, panorama and more features. On the front side, the phone has 8-megapixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. The front camera of the phone is capable of shooting 1440p video at 30fps.
The Galaxy S8 Plus is packed with Non-removable Li-Ion 3500 mAh capacity battery (13.48 Wh) inside the body which can deliver long day battery back up. The phone also supports Fast battery charging (Quick Charge 2.0) feature. In terms of connectivity, it comes with Dual SIM 4G LTE support, Samsung Pay (Visa, MasterCard certified), 3.5mm audio jack port, Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, aptX, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, USB .1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. Samsung DeX (desktop experience support), Qi/PMA wireless charging (market dependent). It has a fingerprint sensor on the back side. It also supports Iris scanner, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate, SpO2 sensors.
