New Facebook app for iOS supports 3D touch

Apple has managed to kick start another revolution in the app space through its 3D touch input technology with iOS 9. The new technology includes pressure sensitive touch on the device. Screen can actually make out the difference between quick tap and a long press now. The recently launched iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s plus came with this brand new technological marvel by Apple.

The Facebook has taken a lead in taking advantage this new feature. The social networking giant pushed new update on the App store which gives support to 3D input. Along with this, the Facebook users will get 3 additional quick actions on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6 plus. With just a harder tap, users can now create new post, take new photo/videos or upload new photo/video to the Facebook.

But for some weird reason, app description on the store doesn’t mention about 3D touch at all. Instead of that the company said, “Every update of our Facebook app includes improvements for speed and reliability. As other new features become available, we’ll highlight those for you in the app.”

The Instagram, another app owned by Facebook, has started pushing quick actions such as posting images through 3D touch through its new iOS updates. The developers at Facebook are also focusing on multitasking on iPad along with different messenger app for watch OS 2.
