Motorola Moto X Play starts receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat update

It looks like the US-based company Motorola is skipping the Android 7.0 update, the company has released the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Moto X Play smartphone. In June month, Motorola confirmed that it would upgrade the mid-range smartphone to Android Nougat, but it take time weeks or months, there was no exact date for the Android Nougat update.

Now, there is an image published on Twitter that suggests that the company released the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Moto X Play users in Brazil. Motorola has rolled out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update only for Brazil for now. But we still don’t know when the company will release the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for other countries, the update is expected for the other countries Moto X Play owners will be released Soon.

Moto X Play Android 7.1.1 Nougat update in Brazil

Motorola Moto X play is a mid-range smartphone and launched on the market more than two years ago. The new Android update for the phone comes with 26.31.1.en.01 version number and upgrade the Android OS from 6.0.1 Marshmallow to 7.1.1 Nougat. If you haven’t received the update then it doesn’t hurt to go to the setting and hit that “Software update” button.

Further, the update contains the latest security patches to the phone released by Google. It will take care of various vulnerabilities on your Moto X Play smartphone and makes it safe from malicious attacks. But there is no information in the changelog that the device got which one, August or September.

The new update comes with new features like better battery performance, split-screen mode, double tap recent key to go back to the previous app and other cool features. The update also comes with pre-install Google’s video call app, Dou.

Recently, Moto X Play was spotted on GFXBench running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS. If all goes well, then the Moto X play users might be getting the Android 7.1.2 update. Motorola has confirmed that the phone won’t get the Android 8.0 Oreo update. If you want to update your Moto X Play to Android Oreo, you can use LineageOS 15 Custom ROM.
