Intex launches smart band for Rs.999, aims physical fitness market

Intex recently launched smart band for just Rs.999 through which company aims to capture physical fitness market. The FitRist smart band will be exclusively sold by online shopping major Snapdeal. The FitRist was first introduced at Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. The product is definitely good for those who want to try smart band for early adoption.

The band comes with the power packed hardware. OLED display has been installed to display text messages, time and other indicators. The smart band has basic fitness features such as sleep quality monitor, distance measurement, calorie counter and step monitoring. Smartphone notifications will be pushed on the smart band as well. For connectivity, we have Bluetooth.

The curved OLED panel with 96 x 32-pixel resolution looks really cool. The display size is around 0.86 inch. Devices running Android 4.3 or above and iOS 7 or higher will be able to run this smart band efficiently.

As far as sensors are concerned, the device has three accelerometers. It also has splash proof and water resistant features. The Bluetooth 4.0 will ensure that the device consumes lesser battery and gives smooth performance.

The company has assured that once charged 100 percent, the smart band will work for 12 days. Xiaomi’s Mi Band is the biggest competitor of this new product.

The first generation of the smart band unveiled by the Intex had 1.56 inches display with the resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The detailed specifications of the latest edition are not available yet. Intex’sFitRist smart band is definitely a promising product of physical fitness enthusiasts in India.
