Hike launches ‘Hike Direct’ to transfer data and messages without internet

Hike Messenger, an Indian instant messaging app, recently launched its new service ‘Hike Direct’. The revolutionary app is now going allow users to exchange big files, stickers, chat and photos without any internet connection. The new service will work well with any hike device in 100 meter range with no telecom network. This file transfer service guarantees speed as high as 40 Mbps without any data charges or active internet connection.

The Hike Direct service is going to play crucial role in a country like India where internet has low penetration. Major parts of rural India still remain under connected and such services can help to trigger conversations in smaller areas. CEO Kavin Mittal of Hike told press while launching new service that data or no data, hike will always work.

Wi-Fi direct technology is at the foundation of this new service which creates peer to peer network connection between to Wi-Fi enabled devices. To use new service, all you have to do is tap on hike direct from the options and the phone will pair up with the nearest device. It lets you transfer the data with this new generation of network solutions. Android users can update their hike messenger from Play store to use new features. iOS and windows apps will be launched by next year.

The hike messenger recently became 2nd biggest instant messaging platform in India with 70 million strong user base which exchanged 20 billion messages last month.
