Airtel launched video conferencing app ‘BlueJeans’ to compete Zoom, Jio Meet

Easy to use; free trial for first 3 months; a secured platform as per company

Mobile operator Bharti Airtel has launched a video conferencing platform ‘Airtel BlueJeans’ in partnership with US giant telecom company Verizon. This video conferencing app of Airtel will challenge Reliance Industries’ Jio Meet.

However, Jio Meet is available for both enterprises and customers. While this service of Airtel is initially available only to enterprise customers. Apart from Jio Meet, Airtel is also set to compete with popular video conferencing services like Zoom, Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams in the BlueJeans
market.

Gopal Vithal, Chief Executive Officer (India and South Asia) of Bharti Airtel gave this information at a conference on Tuesday. Vithal said that Airtel BlueGens is a secure platform. We are committed to the privacy of distant users. He said that 50,000 people can gather on this platform. It is quite easy to use.

Available for ‘first port of call’

Vithal said that under this the ‘first port of call’ offering would be for the undertaking. He said the company would also consider packaging it for smaller offices. He said that it can also be added at home with broadband. There is no reason why this cannot happen.

First three months will get free service

Vithal said that data hosting will take place in India and the company is committed to security and customer privacy. Vithal said that for the first three months we will give this service free of cost. After that, a very competitive price will be taken for this.

This feature of Airtel BlueJeans will initially be available for a free trial. To activate the trial, customers have to go to Airtel’s web site and register by filling their details. After this, a free trial service will be activated within 24 hours.
