Xiaomi Mi A1 launched in India at 14,999 INR

Last week, Xiaomi launched its first Android One smartphone, called Xiaomi Mi A1. The phone is also known as the Xiaomi Mi 5X in the Chinese market. It runs on Pure Android OS instead of MIUI 9. At the launching event, the company said that it would be available at 15,999 INR in the Indian market, but the phone went sale at 14,999 INR, yesterday.

At the launching event, Xiaomi promised that it would launch the Mi A1 smartphone in 37 different countries as well. Yesterday, Xiaomi Mi A1 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage model went on sale at Rs. 14,999, but the quantity of the product is going to be quite low. There is no information when the company launch the phone in other countries too.

Xiaomi Mi A1 comes with 5.5-inch LTPS IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution. It is expected to come with Corning Gorilla Glass protection on the screen. It is powered by 64-bit Octa-core CPU on board which clocks at 2.0 GHz along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 under the hood. There is one one model available in the Indian market that comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage option, for now. It also supports micro SD card up to 128 GB.

The Mi A1 is featured with the dual 12 megapixels camera on the back side with phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, dual-LED flash features. The one 12-megapixel camera comes with 26mm lens, 1.25 µm pixel size and f/2.2 aperture. While another comes with 50mm lens, f/2.6 aperture and 1.0 µm pixel size. It runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat Operating system out of the box and the company said that it would launch the Android 8.0 Oreo OS update for the phone soon.

It is packed with Non-removable Li-Ion 3080 mAh battery inside the body which delivers long day battery back up. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back side, USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.

The Xiaomi Mi A1 is available for pre-order on Xiaomi’s India official website, Flipkart and a few local retailers like Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, LOT, UniverCell, E-Zone and Croma. The next sale for the Mi A1 smartphone is on 19th September and starts at 12:00 local time, Flipkart also have a sale on the same date and same time for the phone. But there is no Rose Gold colour model available on the Flipkart.
