Xiaomi Mi 8 launches on 31st May in Shenzhen, China

Xiaomi Mi 8 is the new phone of the flagship series. It is debuting officially as the flagships phone. The launch event of Xiaomi Mi 8 is scheduled for Thursday that is on 31st of May. So with its launch, it can be said that the Chinese company is having no plans of bringing Mi 7 as the successor of the Mi 6 that was launched last year.

Mi 7 is the successor of the last years Mi 6. It is just skipping and to celebrate its 8th anniversary they are launching the Mi 8. A screen protector and box package are already tipping on the web for the launch of Xiaomi Mi 8. According to some rumors they may also build some 3D facial recognition technology. This is to take on the Face ID of Apple.

According to the confirmed teaser image that has been posted in Welbo, the launch for the Xiaomi Mi 8 will take place in Shenzhen, China. Donovan Sung is the Global spokesperson of Xiaomi. He only confirmed the launch in China and also mentioned that the new Mi 8 is launching to celebrate the 8th anniversary of the company.

According to some previous reports, the tickets were already sold by Xiaomi for the launching event. The launch event will launch the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker other than the Xiaomi Mi 8. Around 5000 attendees are expected on the launching event.

Rumored specifications of Xiaomi Mi 8

According to the rumored specifications, the Xiaomi Mi 8 will be having a notch design. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB inbuilt memory. The phone will be having a new version of MIUI and we are expecting it to run on Android Oreo.

The fingerprint sensor is expected to be under the display. According to a rumored image, it is also expected that Xiaomi is offering a dedicated camera at the front side for enabling advanced facial recognition. It will be in a line with that of the Apple’s Face ID that was introduced in iPhone X.

So it is expected that Mi 8 of Xiaomi will give a tough competition to the OnePlus6 with its all-new build and custom features. Let’s wait for the 31st May and let’s see what Xiaomi has prepared for their customer.
