Instant messaging app WhatsApp has clarified after being criticized worldwide. Explaining the change in data sharing policy, WhatsApp has said that there will be no change in data sharing with Facebook with the new update. Chat and call details will be completely safe and an end to end encryption will also continue.
WhatsApp recently started giving updates about its new privacy policy. In this, information is being given about the data process of the users and updates related to sharing with Facebook. The update also stated that users will have to agree to the new terms and policy by February 8, 2021, to continue using WhatsApp’s services.

Cathcart said that the company has updated its policy to be transparent and to provide information about the alternative features of people-to-business. He said, “It is important for us to be clear that this update is for providing business-related information. This is not going to affect our policies to share data with Facebook.

In the new policy, the licenses are being given to the users, in order to operate our services, you upload, submit, store, send or receive content to WhatsApp, They are given worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable licenses for use, reproduction, distribution and display. WhatsApp users will have to agree to the new term and privacy policy of the app. It is believed that if you do not agree with this privacy policy then you will not be able to use WhatsApp.
