Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo start receiving Android 7.0 Nougat OS update

Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo smartphone launched in August 2015. It came with pre-installed Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system out of the box and the company sent Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS update last year.

Now, the Samsung has decided to send the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update to the Galaxy S5 Neo smartphone. For now, the company starts rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update for the Canada Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.

We can expect that the company will roll-out the Android 7.0 OS update to other countries as well, in the near future. The new major OS update for the Galaxy S5 Neo comes via OTA (over the air) with G903WVLU1CQH4 firmware version number.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo was featured with 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution and 432 PPI pixel density. It has IP67 certified dust and water resistant feature, it can resist water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

The company launched the Galaxy S5 Neo with its own Exynos 7580 chipset on board, there was no Qualcomm Snapdragon powered version. It was powered by Octa-Core CPU under the hood which clocked at 1.6 GHz Cortex-A53 along with Mali-T720MP2. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal storage option with micro SD card support up to 256 GB.

It featured with a 16-megapixel camera on the back side with f/1.9 aperture, 31mm lens, autofocus and LED flash. On the front side, there was the 5-megapixel camera for taking selfies and video calling with f/1.9 aperture and 23mm lens. It was packed with Removable Li-Ion 2800 mAh battery that offered 15 hours talk time on the 3G network.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo was single SIM smartphone with 2G, 3G and 4G connectivity. It was available in Black, Gray and Gold color options. It has some basics features, such as Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and heart rate sensors. There was also some connectivity features too, like Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, and microUSB 2.0, USB On-The-Go.
