Android Oreo for Nokia 8 expected to come in as early as late October

A few days ago, HMD has launched the Nokia 8 in Taiwan. During the press conference, a manager of the HMD confirmed that the Android 8.0 Oreo for Nokia 8 would start rolling out as early as late October.

The company has already confirmed that it is currently testing the Android Oreo OS for the Nokia 8 and roll out soon. Now, it looks like the users of the Nokia 8 won’t have to wait more than a month for the Android 8.0 Oreo OS update, if everything goes according to plan.

The company will launch the Nokia 8 in other countries in the first week of next month. The phone already available in some territories for purchase. The general manager of the HMD for New Zeland, Australia and Indonesia Mark Trundle said and confirmed in an interview that the company would release the Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 by the end of this year.

Nokia 8 comes with 5.3-inch IPS display with 1440 x 2560 pixels of resolution which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 from accidental scratches. It is powered by Octa-core CPU and Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset under the hood along with Adreno 540 GPU. It comes in two memory variants, one comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage option and another comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB internal storage. Both models support micro SD card up to 256 GB.

The Nokia 8 is featured with the dual 13-megapixel camera on the back side along with f/2.0aperture, 1.12µm pixel size, laser & phase detection autofocus, Carl Zeiss optics, OIS and dual-LED. You can record video from a rear camera in 2160p in 30fps. It also has a 13-megapixel camera on the front side for selfies with  f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, 1.12 µm pixel size.

It is packed with Non-removable Li-Ion 3090mAh battery inside the body along with fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0). The phone will be available in the market in Tempered Blue, Polished Blue, Steel, Polished Copper color options. It has a fingerprint print sensor on the back side. It comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, 24-bit/192kHz audio, Nokia OZO audio, IP54 certified – dust and splash resistant, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass and more features.
