The Road to WrestleMania 35 is finally underway. But before we enter the biggest WWE Blockbuster of the year, we will be witnessing the muchly awaited event of 2019, The WWE Elimination Chamber. It will take place in Texas at the Houston Toyota Centre on the 17th of February.
It will be the ninth event under the Elimination Chamber saga. Just like every year, we will be entering another nerve-wracking lineup at the Elimination Chamber. With a number of titles on the line, we are in for a number of feisty encounters.
The Elimination Chamber Lineup:
Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton vs. Samoa Joe vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali for the WWE Championship
At the royal rumble, Daniel Bryan and AJ styles wrestled for the prestigious WWE Championship Belt in which Daniel Bryan prevailed after intervention by Rowan who marked his return to WWE through that match. Styles later confronted the Bryan at Smackdown thereafter.
The confrontation escalated as he was later joined by Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy & Mustafa Ali. As the feisty encounter continued WWE’s Chief Operating Officer Triple H walked in to announce the Elimination Chamber match where Daniel Bryan was asked to fight to retain his title against Styles, Orton, Joe, Hardy & Ali.
Nia Jax & Tamina vs. Riott Squad vs. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville vs. The IIconics vs. Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Naomi & Carmella for the Women’s Tag Team Championship.
After WWE Chairman Vince McMahon announced that a new WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, Alexa Bliss unveiled the championship belts and revealed that the inaugural champions would be determined at Elimination Chamber in a tag team match inside the elimination chamber. Three teams from RAW and three from SmackDown will be against each other inside the Elimination Chamber. After further qualifications, six participating teams were announced.
The lineup consisted of Nia Jax and Tamina, The Riott Squad (represented by Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan), Sasha Banks and Bayley and Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross from RAW. The teams of Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce), and Naomi and Carmella were selected from SmackDown.
The Miz and Shane McMahon vs. The Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) for the WWE Tag Team Championship
At the Royal Rumble, the Miz, and Shane McMahon defeated the Bar (Cesaro & Sheamus) to win the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
The following show saw the Usos (Jey Uso and Jimmy Uso) The Bar, The New Day (represented by Big E and Kofi Kingston), and Heavy Machinery (Otis Dozovic and Tucker Knight) wrestle in a four-corners tag team elimination match to earn a championship match at Elimination Chamber. The Usos prevailed and will face the Miz and Shane McMahon at the Elimination Chamber for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
Buddy Murphy vs Akira Tozawa for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Buddy Murphy retained the WWE Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Kalisto, Akira Tozawa, and Hideo Itami in a fatal four-way match at the Royal Rumble. In the later episode, Akira Tozawa defeated Cedric Alexander, Lio Rush, and Humberto Carrillo in a fatal four-way elimination match to earn another championship match against Buddy Murphy at Elimination Chamber.
