French football club Paris Saint-German have also almost confirmed the signing of Sevilla’s attacking midfielder Pablo Sarabia on which the official statement will also be out soon. A few more details about the transfer are out in the media which is tentatively a week before the official declaration date.
Background
Sarabia had a great last year playing with Sevilla across all the tournaments where he was featured. His statistics showcase that story in an elaborated way as he had 16 goals along with 14 assists to his name in the period of 2018-19 while he was associated with the oldest football club of Spain Sevilla FC. He also ended the La Liga 2018-19 with the joint-most number of assists (13) alongside veteran Barcelona’s forward Lionel Messi.
This has also helped in starting the talks around the Spanish media about his selection in the Spanish National Football Team. All this started at the Real Madrid Sarabia where started his professional football career and later went on to join Sevilla after serving for Getafe for a time of five years. He also played at the different junior level teams of Spain.
The reason behind the Transfer
PSG are looking to make quite a few changes in their squad after a disappointing last year’s campaign where they were eliminated from the Champions League after a defeat against Manchester United and also lost the Coupe de France final to Stade Rennes which came in the penalties.
Heart of the Matter
According to AS Sports, a Spanish sports news portal, a transfer deal of worth €20 million is expected to be made with the 27-year old attacking midfielder in a short span of time. This will help in making PSG an even more powerful team as they already have forward players like Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
Other ace football clubs like Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid were also interested in buying Sevilla’s star player but that deal could not be closed due to higher bids made by the French club. Sevilla’s Sporting Director Ramon Monchi made a last minute attempt to stop this deal from taking place but Sarabia admitted that the offer from PSG was irresistible to deny.
