Mohammad Shami fiasco: Hasin Jahan sends complaint copy to CoA chief, Shami claims he has evidence to prove innocence

Mohammad Shami’s wife, Hasin Jahan has sent all the documents regarding her complaint against Mohammad Shami to Vinod Rai, the chairman of BCCI’s Committee of Administrators, her lawyer said.

Hasin Jahan had earlier filed a complaint with Kolkata police against Mohammad Shami accusing him of adultery, attempt to murder and match-fixing. Now, she has handed over all documents related to her police complaint to Vinod Rai to make it easier for BCCI to investigate her claims.

Vinod Rai heads the Committee of Administrators which is appointed by the Supreme Court to handle BCCI’s regular affairs. After listening to Jahan’s claims, Rai has instructed Mr. Neeraj Kumar, chief of BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit to probe the charges leveled by Jahan against Shami.

In the beginning, Jahan had publicly accused Shami of having affairs with other women and also said he indulged in domestic violence. Later, Jahan went further and claimed that Shami was involved in match-fixing as well. According to Hasin Jahan, Mohammad Bhai, a businessman based in England, insisted Shami take money from Alishba, a Pakistani woman.

BCCI now will scrutinize the matter and will check Shami’s personal details to investigate the charges.
Shami claims to have evidence, says no patch-up with wife

Meanwhile, Shami has responded to allegations leveled by his wife and claimed that he is innocent. While speaking to a news channel, Shami said that he hasn’t done anything wrong and he has all the evidence required to prove his innocence.

When asked about match-fixing, Shami reacted strongly and said that he would prefer to die instead of compromising his performance while representing the nation.

He also said that he has no intentions of patching up with his wife as he isn’t looking for any out of court settlements. Shami said he is instead keen on taking a legal route.
