Jofra Archer earns ECB Contract for 2019-20 in all the Formats

After stunning the cricket world, Jofra Archer has been rewarded for his ruthless performance with central contracts by the England Cricket Board (ECB) in all the three formats. He is amongst the six players who earned contracts in all the formats by the ECB. There are some surprising names who have been skipped from this list.

It is dream-like situation for Archer as a player who was not anywhere in the selection criteria of England but now he is their leading bowler in all the three formats. After making his international debut in May 2019, Archer never looked back in his career and has always climbed up the ladder of success till now.

Archer made his debut for England in the white ball format before moving to the longest format. Everyone was not sure about his performance in the Test matches but he continued with his form of shorter formats in red ball Cricket as well. He produced some stellar performances in the recently concluded Ashes. Archer took 22 wickets at an average of 20 in the four matches that he played in.

His contract was almost confirmed even before it was announced but some players’ contracts have also been terminated from either one form or both the forms of cricket. In this the biggest names are of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid in Test matches as Jack Leach is now their number one spinner.

England’s Director of Cricket, Ashley Giles announced this list of contracts of all the players. The six players whose names are there for all the formats are Jofra Archer, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Butler, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes and Joe Root.
