“Fans Deserve To Know The Truth”: Liverpool Star Adamant

Manager Jurgen Klopp infused an attractive, high octane firebrand football since taking over Liverpool. However, his attacking and high pressing football philosophy became postpubescent since last season with the lethal front three consisting of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane.

The front three enjoys deep friendship amongst themselves and the brotherhood is not only evident from their on-field link ups, but also from the way the trio broke out into the impromptu jigs and celebrations after scoring.

It’s a common perception though, that Bobby Firmino, the colorful Latin American is the creator of the special celebrations and Mane, the soft-spoken one, copies the celebrations, be it the flying kung-fu kicks or the double pistol celebration.

But, now in an interview with Copa90, the Senegalese winger has decided to dispel the myth. According to him: “The fans deserve to know the truth. Firmino copies me, not me copying him.” He also added: “The kick was me. We try it in training. He scored and I was behind him and he did it.”

Mane also claims that the “dance with Philippe and Bobby was mine too.”

Sizzling Sadio also has revealed who the funniest persons are in the Liverpool players’ Whatsapp Group. The 26-year-old reveals that left-back Andy Robertson is funny but James Milner is probably the funniest as the veteran is the one who sends ‘funny videos and images’. On Milner, the winger added: “Honestly, he’s so, so funny, sometimes.”

The scintillating trio of Salah-Mane-Firmino seems to have started this season exactly from where they left the last season off. Buoyed by world-class additions in the team in Brazil number 1 Alisson Becker, midfielders Naby Keita and Fabinho, attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri, Liverpool are strong favorites for the English Premier League along with Manchester City. The Merseysiders have started the season brightly with two successive resounding victories over West Ham and Crystal Palace. The brilliance of the front three is making fans dream about Uefa Champions League too, after last season’s heartbreak in the Final in Kiev.

Arguably, in this season’s two matches so far, Mane has been the best player for Liverpool.

Mane has been involved in 19 goals in his last 18 matches for Liverpool (14 goals, 5 assists) in all competitions.
