The biggest match on football’s global stage arrives as Spanish arch-rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid face each other in the Copa Del Rey semifinal across two legs
Barcelona enters the weekend after Lionel Messi salvaged a point scoring two goals against Valencia after they went 2-0 down at halftime. The Argentine suffered an elbow injury later in the game but played for 90 mins. Messi missed training on Monday and would be a major doubt for the Copa del Rey semifinal first leg against Real Madrid on Wednesday. Messi did miss the first Clasico of the season due to an elbow injury but Barcelona decisively defeated Real Madrid 5-1 at the Camp Nou.
If Lionel Messi does miss the semifinal this season it would be the first time both Messi and Ronaldo aren’t competing against each other in the competition.
