CWC 2019: Three players who can be the most run getter

The 12th edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup is currently going on and has almost reached its end where the final match is just less than 15 days away. So, it’s the right time now to talk about the players who can end as the highest run scorer at the end of the tournament.

Apart from the below mentioned players, there were a lot of other players as well who were expected to appear in this list but right now they don’t feature. This includes big names like Virat Kohli, Steve Smith, Babar Azam, Quinton de Kock etc. but none of them is in the top five as of now.

Let’s look at three such players who are performing quite magnificently till now and have the capability of winning the award for scoring the most number of runs in this year’s World Cup.

Table of Contents

#1 David Warner (Australia)

An unavoidable name to feature in this list is of Australian explosive batsman David Warner. He is currently at the top of the list with 500 runs in runs in just seven matches at an average of over 80. Warner also became the first batsman to reach 500 runs in this year’s World Cup.

The Australian was also the highest run getter in this year’s IPL and the way he is playing in the World Cup, a great chances are there that he will finish at the top of this list.

#2 Aaron Finch (Australia)

An Australian opener to feature in this list is Aaron Finch who is currently at the second spot with just four runs behind his teammate David Warner. Finch is also the captain of the Australian side and has lead team by setting up an example.

Finch along with Maxwell did not participate in this year’s IPL just to prepare ahead of the multi-nation tournament and that has surely turned out to be fruitful as Australia became the first team to go through to the semi-finals.

#3 Rohit Sharma (India)

Rohit Sharma is currently at the sixth spot in the list of most runs getter but has also played the least number of matches but already has two centuries to his name along with a fifty.

With a tremendous average of over 80 and India being almost qualified for the next stage, Rohit also has a decent chance of finishing at the pole position in the list of most run getter of this tournament.
